Yes, Randi Zuckerberg, Please Lecture Us About `Human Decency’

Yes, Randi Zuckerberg, speak to us about human decency.

Because a photo that you posted on Facebook got shared on the Internet.

How awful this must have been for you! How… invasive. What aviolation. How terrible that someone might take something that belongs to you and use it in ways that you had not anticipated, and for which you had not given explicit permission!

Dan Lyons kills it with the hubbub about Randi Zuckerberg’s photo getting shared.

Social Media and Newtown

I know, I know. You have children. It hits close to home. And we are all part of one great community in this world. But not every national event benefits from instant commentary or overly emotional responses. In fact, the world benefits from calm and amazing people who stay off social media and seek to find solutions in the real world.

Laurie Ruettimann nails it.

The Pope Joins Twitter

Today, the Vatican announced that on December 12, which is the Feast of Our Lady of Guadalupe, Pope Benedict XVI (@pontifex) will be the first Pope to join Twitter.

I was raised Catholic. Now I’m going to feel bad about all my vulgar tweets.

Beginning now, people everywhere will have a chance to Tweet questions relating to faith and belief using the hashtag #AskPontifex. Questions will be curated by the Vatican staff for the Pope to respond to via his new Twitter account on December 12th in a live tweeting event at the end of his weekly audience.

I can’t wait for this hashtag to get hijacked. I wonder if someone has already asked, “Would you rather fight one horse-sized duck, or a hundred duck-sized horses?

Facebook and Zynga tear up their contract

A pair of regulatory filings submitted late Thursday revealed that Facebook and Zynga have significantly revised the terms of a five-year deal they signed in late 2010. The new arrangement relaxes restrictions on both Facebook and Zynga, the gamemaker that drove 13% of Facebook’s revenue for the first nine months of 2012

Can you believe that 13% of Facebook’a revenue comes from Zynga games alone? For all the shitty ads we have to endure, somehow Farmville generates more than a tenth of that.

…Zynga investors sent the FarmVille maker’s shares plummeting 11% in after-hours trading.

How does Zynga have any stock value left?
